Jason T. Rich, MD, FACS, is a highly valued physician in his department and in the region. In addition to his excellent patient care, Rich is a respected mentor to residents, fellows and junior faculty. He has been the associate program director for his department’s residency program since 2020 and currently serves as the 17300 medical director for Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He is noted as collegial, collaborative and technically gifted, with a warm, unassuming and humble demeanor that is well-suited to caring for patients with head and neck cancer and to interdisciplinary collaborations. In many ways, he is a voice of reason for patients, physicians, residents in training and all other health care providers. Rich started the department’s head and neck cancer patient support group in 2016, where nurses, physicians, staff and patients all get together to relay their experiences and insights. It is highly-valued by patients and is well-attended.
