Karen Dodson has more than 25 years of professional experience in journalism, public affairs and biomedical publishing. In 2003, she developed Academic Publishing Services (APS) to assist WUSM authors with writing biomedical journal articles, books and grant proposals. Karen is a member of the Department of Medicine faculty, teaching scientific writing and grantsmanship to clinical research trainees.

Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs

Diana L. Gray, M.D., Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Radiology, is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists and of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics.  She graduated from the University of Illinois for both a BS in Biology & Spanish and her MD. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology and fellowships in Ob/Gyn Diagnostic Ultrasound and in Medical Genetics at Washington University Medical Center.  Dr. Gray was the Director of Prenatal Genetic Diagnosis at Barnes-Jewish Hospital for many years and was Director of the Division of Ultrasound and Genetics in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. As a long-time faculty member, she has been very active in clinical medicine, clinical research, medical education and medical school administration.  She was one of three elected faculty representatives to the WU School of Medicine (WUSM) Faculty Practice Plan Board of Directors for its inaugural three years and re-elected for the next three years. She also has been very active in the WUSM Academic Women’s Network, serving as President of the organization in 1999-2000. In 2002, she was appointed WUSM Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and since that time has led many efforts to develop and revise policies, practices, programs and resources to better support and to diversify the faculty and its leadership at the School of Medicine.  For many years she has also been active in AAMC constituency groups, serving currently on the steering committee for the Group on Faculty Affairs and previously on that for the Group on Women in Medicine and Science.

Kim has been working at Washington University School of Medicine for over 30 years.  She has worked as the Coordinator for the Office of Faculty Affairs since 2003.
