Jill Firszt, Ph.D.

Dr. Firszt has been a faculty member at WUSM for 8 years while raising 3 girls.  She believes communication is key in staying engaged in your home life, and that even small amounts of time spent with family can be quality time.  Family meals and family traditions are important and she works to sync work deadlines with family events.  She made sure that her children are educated about what she does at work and why it is important.  She credits her supportive husband and colleagues with helping her maintain her productivity at work.  She has employed one main babysitter/family assistant who also helps with small errands. Talking to other professionals during the parenting years was helpful to her and she hopes she can share her experiences with others.
