Katie K. Wolfe, MD
DEPARTMENT OF PEDIATRICS
Assistant Professor of Pediatrics
2024 Dean’s Impact Award Recipient
Throughout her time as a trainee and junior faculty member, Katie K. Wolfe, MD, has led by example and consistently listened to the aspirations and needs of those around her. Recruited to the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) at WashU Medicine in 2021, she previously spent four years as faculty at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where she completed her residency and fellowship training, leading its PCCM fellowship program. Following graduation from her fellowship, she continued this leadership, acting as a consistent advocate for students and future pediatric intensivists alike. She served as primary research mentor for two PCCM fellows, both of whom presented their
work at national meetings, and continued those relationships and several others after transitioning to WashU Medicine. Since arriving here, Wolfe has stepped into several leadership and mentorship roles, including associate program director for the PCCM fellowship and now pediatric residency program director. Wolfe has established a reputation as an exceptional mentor to all members of the team and is noted as “an exemplary teacher in the clinical environment in a non-threatening way” whose mentoring and teaching styles foster learning and growth.
