Farrokh Dehdashti, MD

Farrokh Dehdashti, MD, excels as a translational scientist, having brought many novel tracers into clinical trials to assess their potential utility in oncology, rising to the rank of professor in 2003, and mentoring many residents, fellows, clinical nuclear medicine faculty and radiochemists along the way. As the first woman senior vice chair for the Nuclear Medicine Division and a major leader in the department, Dehdashti has mentored, sponsored and inspired women and underrepresented minority faculty, a number of whom have, in turn, taken on leadership roles within the department and nationally. Dehdashti serves on the department’s promotions committee and is actively engaged with mentoring junior clinical and research faculty. Moreover, Dehdashti has been a champion for faculty wellness and has enhanced the wellness curriculum, naming a trainee each year to serve as a wellness champion. Her mentorship, along with her scientific contributions and leadership throughout her career, have made a significant impact on members of her division, radiochemists and other trainees and faculty within the departments of radiology and radiation oncology and Siteman Cancer Center.
