Michelle M. Miller-Thomas, MD, a dedicated and highly decorated educator, has served as assistant program director to the diagnostic radiology residency as well as assistant program director and program director for the neuroradiology fellowship. In these roles, she has mentored and sponsored a myriad of trainees while implementing new milestones competency assessment programs through the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), recruiting trainees and leading the programs through ACGME site visits. During her tenure as neuroradiology fellowship program director, she provided critical leadership in managing the transition of the fellows to COVID workflows while maintaining patient care responsibilities, ensuring continuation of their education, and attending to the emotional needs of the fellows during this period of uncertainty. Miller-Thomas is widely recognized as a skilled teacher and mentor, having mentored medical students, residents, house staff and faculty in clinical neuroimaging projects and career development as educators. She has expanded her impact in clinical neuroimaging and medical education by contributing to the development of the next generation of leaders in these fields. She has been a mentor and sponsor to more than a dozen students and house staff who hold academic appointments in radiology departments around the country.
